Finally finished!  Seems like I've been working on this one most of the summer.  Not constantly!  There have been lots of pauses for gardening and hiking and kayaking and visiting family.  But it's good to have it done.

Based on roots I photographed on our first kayak trip this year, where a pair of trees had torn loose from the bank and fallen into the water.  I love the swirl of the combined root masses, and the complexity of the interweaving.  This is one of the few pieces I've done without any Stardream metallic.  It's mostly bark paper - Lokta and Amate.  The leafy background is Ogura lace.  The metallic-looking water and surround is a lokta.  I used charcoal and pastels to get some of the gray shades I needed, and to make the brown background a little less flat.

26" x 16".  (This is big, for me!)

I love it! The intertwining shapes must have been some difficult work, but it looks marvelous!
